Heartsaver CPR AED Course Description
Safeguard CPR offers the Heartsaver CPR AED course for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.
Heartsaver CPR AED Course Format
Instructor-led, hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency
This course is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.
Heartsaver CPR AED Course Estimated Time
The classroom course can be completed in approximately 1 ¾ hours (including optional lessons and breaks) Successful completion is based on achievement of the core learning objectives rather than a prescribed instruction time.

any others where having a workforce of trained lay responders may prove invaluable for the safety of both customers and employees.
It is also appropriate for lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace, and family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death.
